We believe the Bible is the inspired and authoritative Word of God. It is the final authority for faith, life, and doctrine.
(2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21; Hebrews 4:12)
About The Oaks
We exist to help people become planted in Christ, Positioned in community, and purposed for something more.
The Rigg Family
We’re a family with deep roots in ministry, a strong love for people, and a clear calling from God. After years of leading in a growing church and helping it multiply in size and impact, God began to stir something fresh in our hearts. Not a step backward— but a step of bold obedience. In 2025, we said yes to planting The Oaks Church in Ashland, Virginia. We didn’t come here on a whim. We came with prayer, preparation, and a passion to see lives changed. Our vision is simple: to build a church where people are planted in Christ, positioned in community, and purposed for something more. A place where real faith can grow, families can thrive, and the presence of God is unmistakable.
This isn’t just ministry. It’s our life. It’s our calling. It’s our joy. We’re ready—and we believe the best is yet to come. Welcome to The Oaks Church.
The Mission

Beliefs
The Bible
01
God
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — each fully God and fully unified.
(Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
02
Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, rose from the grave, and will return again in power and glory.
(John 1:1–14; Colossians 1:15–20; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4; Acts 1:11)
03
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, regenerates believers, empowers us to live Christ-centered lives, and equips us with spiritual gifts for ministry.
(John 14:16–17; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 12:4–11; Galatians 5:22–23)
04
Sin & Salvation
We believe that all people have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Because of sin, we are separated from Him and in need of a Savior. Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone — not earned by works but given as the free gift of God to all who repent and believe.
(Romans 3:23; Ephesians 2:8–9; Romans 10:9–10; Acts 4:12)
05
Humanity & Gender
We believe that every person is created in the image of God with inherent dignity, value, and purpose. God created humanity male and female, and these two genders reflect His design and cannot be changed.
(Genesis 1:26–27; Psalm 139:13–16; Mark 10:6)
06
The Church
We believe the Church is the body of Christ, made up of all who put their faith in Jesus. The local church exists to worship God, equip believers, and reach the world with the gospel.
(Matthew 16:18; Acts 2:42–47; 1 Corinthians 12:12–27)
07
The Great Commission
We believe every believer is called to share the gospel and make disciples of all nations. The Church is sent to reach the lost, care for the needy, and advance God’s Kingdom.
(Matthew 28:18–20; Acts 1:8; 2 Corinthians 5:18–20)
08
Eternity
We believe in the resurrection of the dead, the final judgment, and the eternal destiny of every person — either eternal life with God in heaven or eternal separation from Him in hell.
(John 5:28–29; Matthew 25:31–46; Revelation 20:11–15)
09
The Return of Christ
We believe Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly to establish His Kingdom in fullness. This is our blessed hope and motivation to live faithfully.
(Titus 2:13; 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17; Revelation 22:12)
10
Baptism & Communion
We believe in water baptism as an outward declaration of faith and in communion as a remembrance of Christ’s sacrifice. These are acts of obedience, not requirements for salvation.
(Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:3–4; 1 Corinthians 11:23–26)
